An electrostatic precipitator (particle filter) which also automatically controls the chimney draught reduces particle emissions.

Particles, which are inevitable whenever wood is burned, should be collected using a particle filter, particularly an electrostatic precipitator. An electrostatic precipitator is an effective way to capture particles from flue gas before they enter the atmosphere. This technology is known from power plants and must be developed for private chimneys with connected wood-burning stoves.

PHX Innovation is working on developing an electrostatic precipitator (particle filter) combined with a chimney fan for reducing particle emission from wood-burning stoves. The filter is installed at the top of the chimney. The chimney fan ensures optimal draft, even when the chimney is cold or during refueling.
